Reddit is pro-AI
I love using Reddit, it hosts niche communities, certain subreddits give great answers and support. Many people still agree that Reddit is a generally great platform. But am I the only one who notice the contrast between users beliefs and the platform itself? Many big subreddits prohibit the use of AI generated posts, communities look down on AI-slop, and yet Reddit (the platform) itself promote AI ads. Not to mention, Reddit have a partnership with OpenAI and Reddit sold their users to train AI models. The company have been transparent with its view on AI. When you open the Reddit app, scroll a few times to see the same post three times, AI posts, AI ads and AI summary.
Is it time to wave the flag? Is this perhaps the death of internet communities?
