ISIS brides? No. They are ISIS members

With the conflict in Western Asia, I have been updating my knowledge on civil wars and history of the region. Australia recently reported "ISIS brides" return and they have been arrested. I think the term "ISIS brides" is romantic and undermine these women's involvement with the Islamic State. Women can be evil. Just like the men, who fell into propaganda and recruited to commit acts of violence and terror, women are the same. They are bystanders and they too hold beliefs like the men- blood shed is part of the Jihadist ideology.

The men are incarcerated and/or sentenced to death. Yet, women who willingly join the Islamic State are pitied and given the benefit of the doubt. What about the Yazidi women who was raped by their husbands or killed or enslaved? Many of the children of ISIS have been indoctrinated and the mothers reenforce the propaganda in prison camps. Historically, women who do crimes are not taken seriously. It is not that women don't do crimes, women are undermined and overlooked. Ironically, the patriarchy is working for women by assuming women are lesser than men. We need to take women who do crimes seriously.
